Volvo Takes a Stand with the WWF Against Climate Change

To date, Volvo is the only automaker to participate in the World Wildlife Fund's Climate Savers program.

This may come as no surprise. Unlike internal corporate challenges to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, WWF's Climate Savers pushes companies to set even more ambitious goals, and holds them to those goals with independent assessments by technical experts.

Volvo's transparency in its plans to cut back on CO2 is the latest in a long history of leadership in safety and environmental stewardship. After all, the Volvo 240 was the first car ever equipped with an oxygen sensor -- a device that cut exhaust emissions by 90 percent!

We know that drivers all across New Jersey feel strongly about climate change, evidenced by your appetite for buying hybrid Volvo cars. The future of our inventory at Volvo Cars of Edison promises to be filled with even more hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery-electric vehicles on the way. By joining the Climate Savers program with WWF, Volvo is demonstrating an even greater commitment to cut carbon across the lifecycle of its products. We hope you'll visit our showroom for a test drive.
